The City House has adopted the following policies for the care and comfort of our guests.

By securing a reservation, the guest is acknowledging that they have read and agree with our stated policies. Please pay attention because our policies are subject to change.

A valid credit card is required to secure your reservation and the full room rate will be charged at the time of booking. No personal checks are accepted. Traveler’s checks accepted along with Visa and Mastercard. Rates are based on single or double occupancy (taxes are not included). Some of our rooms accommodate three guests, but please note there is a $20.00 charge for each additional guest per night. Room rates are subject to availability and can change without prior notice.

Frequent Business Guests

If you wish to receive monthy invoices, please contact the proprietor directly.

Check-In & Check-Out

Our check-in time ranges from 3:00-7:00pm and should be scheduled with the innkeeper. If you are unsure of your arrival time or will be traveling later in the evening, we will make sure you have all the information you need to check-in and make yourself at home. Understand that we cannot accomodate early arrivals due to the intimacy of the inn, but are always happy to store luggage. If you will be coming in early, please call our innkeeper to arrange dop-off and to secure a parking spot. Check-out is any time before 11:00am. Once again, please understand that we must adhere to a strict schedule to ensure that all of our guests are taken care of.

Only night staying guests are allowed in the rooms.

Cancellation Policy

While we understand that travel can be unpredictable and plans sometimes change, making a reservation at a B&B is quite different from making one with a major hotel. We have a very small staff and our entire schedule is built around our guests, so cancellations affect us dearly. Please understand that we must enforce our policies accordingly. Of course, we are happy to rearrange things within reason and will do our best to accommodate you. Cancellations with 72 hours notice will receive 50% of their booking rate back. If you cancel less than 72 hours before 3pm on the arrival date, we cannot issue you a refund. Once again, we cannot accept responsibility for inclement weather, changes in plans, personal sickness or injury, families emergencies, etc. We appreciate your understanding.

We serve a full continental breakfast with hot entrée each morning at 8am and 9am daily. Guests may enjoy swapping stories around our dining room table, or relax with a book and their coffee in the sunroom. We love offering housemade bread, muffins, and scones, as well as fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, and juice. Breakfast is prepared daily and can range from sweet to savory, depending on the mood of the innkeeper. We are always prepared to accomodate special diets and are happy to do so with advanced notice. If you have to depart early in the morning, please let us know and we will arrange some grab-and-go items at our coffee station.

Our private parking lot accomodates one vehicle per room. In the event that you require two spaces, please call our innkeeper to coordinate.

Please remember as you pack for your visit that the City House is a historical building with one flight of stairs and no elevator, so smaller bags may be most suitable for your trip.

Due to our insurance, as well as the health and safety of our guests, we are a non-smoking facility. Smoking is permitted on outdoor porches and patio areas only. For those who smoke inside their rooms or common areas, a $125.00 fumigation fee will be charged to their account and the guest/s will be asked to leave the facility.

Unfortunately, we do not accommodate children under the age of 8. Rooms will be inspected upon departure.

We regret that we are unable to accept pets.

In keeping with the historic preservation of our facility, we unfortunately do not have the appropriate access for persons confined to wheelchairs.
