Our historic house along the Susquehanna river is the perfect location for a unique and intimate event, whether a baby shower, wedding, or holiday party. Our event packages start at $375.00 for a four hour event (one hour for setup, two for your event, and one for clean up), with additional hours available for $75.00. After that, the possibilities are endless. We’ve got plenty of options to accommodate your special gathering:


  • Yard & terrace space = $50.00/hour

  • Yard, for tent set-up = $100 fee (does not include tent rental)

  • Kitchen rental = $50.00/hour


We’re also able to help with some of the small details, giving you more time to focus on the big picture:


  • China package = $3.00 per setting (dinner & dessert plate, silverware, paper napkin, clear plastic cup, wine glass or mimosa glass)

    • add wine glass or mimosa glass to the china package = $0.50/glass

  • Cake Table with linen - 30" x 30" = $5.00

  • 4' Table with linen = $7.00

  • 6' Table with linen = $10.00


Wedding Weekend Package $2,900.00

City House is available for all of these and more. This package gives you full run of the house for two days of your choosing: you’ll get all four of our rooms for two nights, breakfast for eight guests each morning, and coverage for one special event. Family Weekend Package $1,800.00


If you’d like to get together with the whole family or reunite with friends, move on into City House for the weekend. While our house provides privacy and a scenic location, there are dozens of restaurants, bars, and local businesses right within walking distance. Play games in the den, enjoy a book in our sunroom, or just sit and enjoy a coffee together on the terrace. At night you can venture into midtown Harrisburg for live music or a gallery show, or head straight into downtown for dinner at one of the city's many restaurants. This package includes all four rooms for two nights, breakfast for eight guests each morning, and ensures that you’ve got the whole place to yourselves. Frequently Asked Questions


What is included in your basic event package?


Every event at our house gets full use of our dining room, living room, sunroom, and foyer. We’ve got a large dining room table with linens provided, a round lobby table for display set-up or favors, several tray tables, and bins for waste disposal. If you need anything else, feel free to ask!


Who caters your events?


We want your event to be exactly how you envision it, and will not limit you when it comes to caterers. You may have someone bring in prepared trays or rent our kitchen and allow a chef to prepare your dishes onsite. If you need help finding someone, just ask! We’ve got plenty of excellent local recommendations.


May I bring alcohol?


While you’re here, our house is your house. You are welcome to bring your own beer or champagne, hire a bartender, or not have any alcohol at all. Don’t hesitate to ask about special requests, or let us help you brainstorm and figure out the perfect setup for your event.


May I drop items off early? What about my caterer/florist/etc.?


Due to the scale of our inn, we request that all deliveries occur within your allotted event time.

Is there a restroom?


City House has a one individual restroom connected to our foyer, for the comfort of our event guests.


How big is your house? Can you accommodate all of my guests?


City House can accommodate events of multiple sizes. Our dining room table provides space for up to 13 people if you’re interested in a catered dinner. Beyond that, we recommend groups no larger than 50 individuals for a buffet/cocktail reception, or rent our yard and comfortably host up to 125 guests for an indoor/outdoor event.


Where do I park?


Our private lot is reserved for overnight guests, but we provide one parking space for each event to allow for easy drop-offs and pick-ups. Event guest parking is located in the Miller's Mutual Insurance lot, half a block from City House at the corner of Front & Forster Street: 805 N Front St, Harrisburg, PA 17102


How accessible is City House?


Please note that our historic property has stairs leading to the front door and going down to the restroom.


When can my event start?


Event hours can run anywhere from 12-9pm. Special exceptions may be available, but we do enforce a strict noise cutoff at 9pm for the comfort of our overnight guests. If you’d like to plan a late night event, consider renting out the house for the evening.


What about overnight guests?


Please keep in mind that we are a fully operational bed & breakfast. However, all of our lodging is on the second floor of the house, so you will have the downstairs completely to yourself for the duration of your event. Just don’t be surprised if you meet a friendly stranger or two! If you’d like a completely private event, consider renting out the whole house for the night.
